ANDERSON ISLAND NEW HOME
The Anderson Island New Home was designed as a summer retreat rooted in family history, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to its setting. Created for a family with longstanding ties to the island, the home balances a relaxed, livable atmosphere with thoughtful architectural detailing and enduring materials.
Living spaces were positioned on the upper level to capture expansive views of Puget Sound, allowing daily life to unfold alongside changing light, weather, and water. Heavy timber framing, trim, and fir ceilings bring warmth and character throughout the home, all milled from trees harvested on site during construction. This approach created a seamless relationship between the architecture and the land it sits on.
A matching detached garage and workshop extend the design language beyond the main residence, reinforcing a cohesive campus feel while supporting both practical needs and long-term use. The result is a place that feels grounded, personal, and built to last—a home that reflects both its island setting and the people who gather there.
