This classic Tudor home had a bedroom adequate for sleeping, but for two avid readers there was insufficient space for bookshelves. Our clients asked us to develop a Master Suite with a dedicated place to read when time and schedule permitted.

ecco presented the owners with a cluster of rooms at the top of the stairs but seemingly away from it all. The suite springs from the space occupied by the original bedroom, but the space is expanded to include an elevated section with a bathroom and walk-in closet, complete with a reading room that invites an imagination to roam free. Stepping up to the raised portion of the suite, the lofty reading room is drenched with sunlight pouring in from full-height windows. A fan spins lazily overhead, pulling the warm air from the room and creating a gentle cross breeze.
