Like many significant remodels, this project started relatively small with the need to replace the deteriorated front porch, the desire for a laundry chute and a way to fix a very problematic interior stair. By the time it was finished, the family had a newly configured first floor and stairs, new windows throughout, a finished basement and a functional new kitchen. Two dormers were added upstairs to accommodate a new bathroom, enhanced closet storage and a new balcony to allow for the owners telescope for their star gazing passion. New siding and exterior trim detailing brought back to life the old charm & flavor of the original 1926 home that had been covered up with vinyl siding over the years. The only floor space that was added was the 400 square feet upstairs (at the dormers), but the result of the remodel is a much more functional and comfortable home. |
