Our client dreamed of throwing dinner parties and barbeques, but her kitchen was cramped and there was no room for a dining table. The long flight of stairs from kitchen to backyard prevented an easy flow from indoors to outside. In addition, her bedroom shared a bath with the guest room, and she longed for her own private master suite.

ecco designed a simple one-story addition that includes a dining room and a master bedroom, both opening onto the new deck. We turned the existing bedroom into a master bath & closet. We stepped the spaces gradually toward the yard, with the dining room one step down from the kitchen, and the deck a few steps down from there. Now family & friends can move easily from the light-filled dining room out to the deck, and someday soon down to the patio and firepit our client has planned for the yard.
