Our clients had three specific goals: incorporate an office with a private entrance into their existing basement, provide a place for the kids to let loose, and find a place for “the stuff” at the entry. It was important to the homeowners that the character and detailing of the existing home be preserved and improved through the design.

The existing basement was unfinished. In this shell we were able to incorporate the home office. ecco utilized the excess space and added an entertainment room, a family room, a full bath and a laundry room.  To resolve access to both the main house and the planned office, ecco extended the existing porch to create a separate stair to the basement. The new porch allowed for a mudroom complete with lockers and storage.
