The language of this early twentieth century farm house had been muddled by several remodels and additions. Clarifying the architecture was a main goal, along with creating better connections within the house with a more open plan and simplified circulation.  Ecco explored many options with the client, and in order to balance design goals with budget constraints, the final decision was to keep the overall layout of the spaces intact.

The perplexing history of the house faded and a simple elegance emerged by eliminating the confusing circulation and re-establishing what we believed to be some of the homes original symmetry. Darkly stained flooring echoed the dark exterior paint color, and whites and light grays replaced the primary colors on the walls, trim & casework. With dramatic sets of french doors, marble slab in the kitchen and a new master bath, a timeless classic emerged.
