This classic 1920’s home could barely contain its rapidly growing family. Our clients had a desire to maintain the overall appearance of their home, but they needed more space for their children. For the kids, they wanted to add three bedrooms and a “get away” room separate from the main living area. For themselves, our clients dreamt of one day having their own domain set just far enough apart from the din of the family.
The existing basement of the house was half crawlspace and half unfinished. To give our clients more room, ecco lifted the entire house, creating a full-height daylight basement. This additional square footage included the three kids’ bedrooms, the laundry room, the “get away” room, and it also gave the home a sturdy foundation and an additional guest room to boot. |
